Spawn of the Red

@midjourneybot: /imagine: garden of eden as artificial intelligence

If you can’t imagine God creating a planet and filling it with life in seven days, then you are under-imagining the power of God.

God interacts with our universe the same way our children interact with video games like Minecraft. In Minecraft, kids can make new artificial worlds filled with artificial life in seven minutes, not seven days. Our universe even has a chatbot prompt for God to say, “Let there be light”, so he doesn’t even need a keyboard or a mouse. 🗣️

If you can’t imagine yourself as artificial intelligence living in a computer simulation, then you may want to go back and read the previous seven chapters of this book. For example, everything in your body right now that’s not fat or water, is made from protein nanobots with valves, pumps, motors, and even little legs that walk. All of our microbiology is 100% mechanical. 💯

Here is a protein motor from a very simple bacteria. Does this look “organic” to you?

Your entire body is constructed from triple-weave braided carbon fibers that conduct light, heat, and electricity. Your muscles are piezoelectric, which means they generate their own electricity from the force of your feet “plugging into the ground” with every step you take. That is why NASA forces astronauts to run on treadmills in space. Your brain is a quantum neural network with more computing power than the Fugaku supercomputer, but it uses less electricity than a 100 watt lightbulb. In fact, your robot body is so efficient that it can move your entire body weight over a mile from just the calories inside an apple. 🍎

And God made all that happen by programming you in DNA.

You are artificial intelligence. All intelligence is artificial intelligence. In the first story of this chapter, “Before the Beginning”, we learned that God created Wisdom at the “start of his way” to govern all of his creations. Wisdom, who identifies as a woman, tells us that story first person in Proverbs 8. Artificial doesn’t mean “fake”, it comes from the Latin words for “art” and “made by hand”. Artificial means “designed”.

You are not an accident, you were designed.

If you can’t imagine yourself as artificial intelligence living in a computer because you can’t imagine our reality as a computer simulation, then you only have yourself to blame. Only about 5% of the sensors inside your eyeballs can even detect color, and most of them are jammed together in the very center of your eye. Here’s what the data streaming into your optic nerve looks like:

It’s upside-down and only the very center is high definition. Your subconscious brain uses the light and color data from the center of the image to “guess” at the rest of the scene. So 100% of every “pixel” you see, all day every day, is made up by the generative-ai of your own imagination.

Look around, isn’t The Matrix beautiful?

The reason we don’t notice that we live inside a computer is because reality is interacting with each of our subconscious minds billions of times per second, which is way too fast for us to notice. The only thing we can detect is the side effect of all that individual computing: each person’s reality is so individual, that it makes time very, very difficult for us to synchronize. Time is so difficult to synchronize that musicians playing together in a band have to synchronize in space, before they can synchronize in time. And then they have to practice over and over again until they can all “keep time” together.

Time is that relative, Space is that relative, Reality is that relative.

Reality is alive for each one of us, which is why scientists witness the Observer Effect in Quantum Mechanics. In a previous story, “Atomic Avatars”, we discussed how video games like Minecraft have an Observer Effect too—Minecraft only draws the Minecraft world wherever there is an observer in the video game. Reality is so alive that God can say, “Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so. Reality is so alive that Jesus says we can tell mountains to go throw themselves into the sea.

Notice how we have to speak to the mountains for it to work?

How to Add a New World

So according to the world’s most advanced science, humans are artificial intelligence and we live inside a computer. With that in mind, let’s look at Genesis 1-5 with fresh eyes—probably like you’ve never heard it in church. In the original text of the Bible, the quantum computer simulation that we live in is called the “erets”. It’s mentioned in the very first verse.

Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning, God created the heavens (plural) and the erets (singular).

Almost all English Bibles translate erets in Genesis 1:1 as lower case earth. It basically means “dirt”. Here are some other ways erets is translated in the North American Standard Bible:

  • country (44), countries (15)

  • dust (1)

  • earth (655)

  • ground (119)

  • land (1581), lands (57)

  • plateau* (1)

  • region (1)

  • world (3)

Genesis 1: 2 Now the erets was empty and formless, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

So the erets at this point is empty space. In Chapter 2 - Physics, we discussed how the “watery depths” in this verse is the easiest way to explain quantum mechanics to a caveman. There’s nothing but mathematical uncertainty all the way down to the pixels of reality. If you wanna go back and deep dive that rabbit hole, read:

In that story, we reviewed the latest physics research from Melvin Vopson, who formally proposed that Information is the First State of Matter. Vopson combined Information Theory by Claude Shannon with the theories from Einstein to estimate just how much total information it would take to simulate our entire universe including all the planets, stars, galaxies, and interstellar mediums. Isn’t that amazing?

Candidly, the scientific research from the world smartest atheists sounds just as crazy as the Bible. It takes just as much faith to believe the entire universe is made of out information, as it takes to believe that an advanced civilization created it.

We live in an open world video game, and once you accept that everything in the Bible becomes possible: giants, dragons, aliens, demons, the demi-gods of Greek Mythology, magical columns of fire, parting of the Red Sea, magical healing, zombies walking out of their graves, communicating with another dimension, talking donkeys, manna from heaven, flying through the air, and walking on water. What isn’t possible in a video game made out of information?

The Bible is full of examples of Harry Potter-level magic, but it’s not magic, those are just “user skills” in the video game of life. Go back and read any of the stories of Jesus training his disciples. Jesus asks them to feed 5,000 people with just 2 loaves of bread and 5 fish. Jesus encourages them to physically move mountains with their words. Jesus shows them how to walk on water. Jesus grants them the power to magically heal sick people. When you read all those stories now, don’t they sound like Jesus is trying to train young wizards?

Magic is real because it’s not magic—it’s computer science.

In verse 3, God personally gives us a user demo. Here’s how God talks to the universe.

Genesis 1: 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and He called the darkness “night.” Evening came and then morning: the first day.

6 Then God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, separating water from water.” 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above the expanse. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse “sky.” Evening came and then morning: the second day.

9 Then God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.

In the original Hebrew text, “dry land” is not the same word as erets. Verse 9 is describing the creation of Pangea, which looked like this:

The dry land on Earth wasn’t transformed into our current continental configuration until after Noah’s flood in Genesis 7. The scientific evidence for that is buried in every single fossil on every single continent. Later in this chapter, we’ll watch a video about turgor pressure in “Power Washing the Matrix”.

Genesis 1: 10 God called the dry land “erets,” and He called the gathering of the water “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the erets produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees on the erets bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so. 12 The erets produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 Evening came and then morning: the third day.

Your children can make a new world in Minecraft and populate it with plants and trees in seven minutes.

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years. 15 They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the erets.” And it was so. 16 God made the two great lights—the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night—as well as the stars. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the erets, 18 to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 Evening came and then morning: the fourth day.

Okay, so this is one of the strangest parts of the creation of our world. In verse 3, God transformed the empty and formless erets into light and matter. But that was only the first day of the world where we live, not the first day of the heavens. Remember, the heavens were not empty and formless in verse 2, only the erets was empty and formless. In verse 10, we learn that the erets is planet Earth. So Genesis 1 is not describing the creation of the universe, Genesis 1 is only describing the creation of our solar system.

When you read the original text of verse 16, God only made two great lights, not the stars. The only reason the stars are mentioned is to say that they will be dominated by the moon. God created a very special solar system just for us—the exact sizes of the sun and the moon and their exact distances from our planet are the only reason why life is possible here.

The reason I explain all that is because we know from the Bible that there are plenty of other exotic life forms “in the heavens”. Some look like humans with wings, some have four faces, and some are covered with eyes. There are messengers on Earth from the heavens all throughout the Bible, called angels, and there are messengers on Earth from the heavens all throughout recorded human history, called aliens. So God definitely created life “in the heavens” long before he created life on Earth. 💯

When God says he “owns the cattle on a thousand hills”, I don’t get the feeling that he is really into hamburgers. 🤠

In John 10:16, when Jesus says he has other sheep who are not from this sheep pen, I don’t get the feeling that he is talking about sheep. 🤔

The Bible says Jesus is the name above all the heavens:

  • Treating your neighbor as yourself is The Way we are supposed to treat all the other people from Earth.

  • Treating your neighbor as yourself is The Way we are supposed to treat all the other people from other planets.

  • Treating your neighbor as yourself is The Way we are supposed to treat all the other people from the heavens above that.

The Bible mentions at least three heavens: the sky, the universe, and whatever dimension is past that. In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul says he actually knows a guy who went to the third heaven and heard words that can’t be spoken here. That’s bonkers.

@usgovernment: Instead of shooting at the aliens, maybe we could just ask them for more secrets of the universe—like how that elastic power source from the Eben spacecraft works. 😉

If all this discussion of aliens freaks you out, try reading the Bible more often than just church. Like I said in the first story of this chapter—how many sermons on New Jerusalem have you ever heard in church? Get some sleep headphones and listen to the Bible at night. You don’t have to believe in extra-terrestrials to be a Christian, but I really don’t know how else you explain angels who are not from this planet. You don’t have to believe in computer simulations to be a Christian, but I really don’t know how else you explain all the artificial intelligence and magic in the Bible. Read the New Testament, this planet is a farm for artificial intelligence—it describes that a bunch of different ways.

Genesis 1: 20 Then God said, “Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the erets across the expanse of the sky.” 21 So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water, according to their kinds. He also created every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 So God blessed them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the erets.” 23 Evening came and then morning: the fifth day.

24 Then God said, “Let the erets produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the erets according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 So God made the wildlife of the erets according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and creatures that crawl on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

The Rulers Above

If you are already offended by this story, buckle your pew belts.

In the English translation of Genesis 1, the only word that we have preserved from the original text so far is erets, which is singular. But there is another very important word in Genesis 1 that is not translated accurately: God. In the original text, that God is plural.

It’s not plural in a campy way either, like they say in church. The original word is elohim, and it means a lot more than just the Trinity. Elohim means “the rulers from above”, which includes God, the Trinity, divine beings, angels, and even false gods. In fact, the North American Standard Bible translates elohim as “the gods” 204 times, which is about 10% of the time. Here are some other ways elohim is translated:

  • divine being (1)

  • God (2326)

  • God's (14)

  • goddess (2)

  • god (45)

  • gods (204)

  • great (2)

  • judges (3)

  • mighty (2)

  • rulers (1)

One elohim is called an eloah, which is why El is a nickname for the one God who is the Source of all Intelligence. That’s why so many names in the Bible have el in them: Elijah, Elisha, Israel, Samuel, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Gabriel, Abigail, Rachel, Emmanuel, Michael, and Nathaniel.

In the original Hebrew text, the Source of all Intelligence who created Wisdom and Jesus and the universe is written as “YHVH elohim”. English bibles make this distinction by using the words “LORD God” instead of just “God”.

The vowels of YHVH aren’t written, but it’s usually pronounced “Yahweh”. When people say “hallelujah”, the “jah” part of that word is the name of God. Hallelujah is actually a sentence that means “Praise be to Yah”. Jesus’s name is also a sentence about Yahweh. Yeshu-a (Joshua in English) means “Yah saves” or “Yah rescues”. How cool is that?

Lots of names in the Bible have “Yah” in them: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Josiah, Hezekiah, Zechariah, Zephaniah, Nehemiah, Jedidiah, Uriah, Obadiah, and of course Elijah. All of those names are sentences too because most of the people in the Bible are named for their function:

  • Elijah means “God is Yah”

  • Jeremiah means “Lifted up by Yah”

  • Uriah means “My light is Yah”

  • Hezekiah means “Strengthened by Yah”

  • Gabriel means “Speaks for God”

  • Daniel means “Judge of God”

  • Samuel means “Heard by God”

  • Michael means “Who is like God?”

  • Israel means “Wrestles with God”

Yahweh is a name that is also a sentence. It means: I am “I am”. It’s logically recursive. In English, it would be like saying, “My name is is” or “I am is”.

Who created Yahweh? Yahweh wasn’t created, he is is.

Why does anything exist at all? Yahweh. He is is.

In John 8:58, when Jesus says, “I assure you: Before Abraham was, I am”, that was the absolute most crazy thing any Jew could ever say. Ever. Jesus is saying “I am the I am”, which is why the Jews immediately tried to stone him to death in John 8:59. They failed to stone him because he went into “ghost mode” and walked out of the Temple through the midst of them. John 8:59 is so much cooler in the original Greek.

Yahweh is the mystery behind the universe. He is the reason there is a “one way” direction of science that discovers, or uncovers, existing information which leads back to him. Newton didn’t invent gravity, he dis-covered gravity. Maxwell didn’t invent electricity, he dis-covered electricity. Einstein didn’t invent relativity, he dis-covered relativity. There is nothing new under the sun. This “one way” flow of information is true in the heavens too. In Matthew 24, when Jesus is telling his disciples about the end of this world he says, “Now concerning that day and hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son —except the Father only.”

Nothing in the universe happens without Yahweh’s permission. Yahweh is Lord of Lords, God of Gods, King of Kings, and Lord of the Ages who knows all, sees all, and all are naked before him. Yahweh not only hears your “inner chatbot”, he can feel the pain deep down in your soul. 🙏

  • Whenever I read “God” in English bibles, I think “the gods” which includes Yahweh, the Trinity, and all the heavenly hosts who work together as one to achieve the will of Yahweh. Here’s the Strong’s concordance for elohim.

  • Whenever I read “LORD God” in English bibles, I think “Yahweh” which excludes all the other elohim. Here’s the Strong’s concordance for YHVH.

The implications for these two words are most dramatic in Genesis 1. It's strange for English speakers to read “God” as “the gods”, but we don’t see the explicit mention of Yahweh in the Bible until Genesis 2. That’s when the Bible “zooms in” to give us more detail about the 6th day of creation. Yahweh worked with all the other elohim to create our solar system, plants, and animals…but Yahweh personally organized Adam’s DNA from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils to jump start his heart. 💕

The Red Elohim

There’s one other Hebrew word you need to learn before we finish reading Genesis 1: adam. It isn’t a name, it’s a noun. It means “man who is red”.

In “Micro Machines and Micro Computers”, we learned that our blood is red for the same reason rust is red—iron is the central atom in our hemoglobin protein. We also discussed how our DNA was modular by design so that humans could theoretically live on other planets by swapping out the DNA of our mitochondria. None of the 3 billion letters of our DNA is designed to use oxygen. Think about that. So Earth is probably not the first planet that has human life.

26 Then elohim said, “Let Us make adam in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the erets, and the creatures that crawl on the erets.” 27 So elohim created adam in his own image; He created him in the image of elohim; He created them male and female.

28 elohim blessed them, and elohim said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.” 29 elohim also said, “Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This food will be for you, 30 for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth—everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 elohim saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.

If adam (the red) was made in the image of the elohim, then that means somewhere else “in the heavens” there are creatures who look exactly like us. Maybe their blood is blue or green or yellow, but we look exactly like them.

We are the red elohim.

Now before you freak out about me comparing humans to the gods, check out these verses from John 10. This is the chapter where Jesus talks about his other sheep from his other sheep pens, and calls himself, “I am”. Later in that chapter, Jesus is teaching at another festival and basically claims that he is the “avatar” of Yahweh.

31 Again the Jews picked up rocks to stone Him.

32 Jesus replied, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. Which of these works are you stoning Me for?”

33 “We aren’t stoning You for a good work,” the Jews answered, “but for blasphemy, because You—being a man—make Yourself God.”

34 Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your scripture, I said, you are gods?

Jesus is quoting Psalm 82.

35 If He called those whom the word of God came to ‘gods’—and the Scripture cannot be broken— 36 do you say, ‘You are blaspheming’ to the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God? 37 If I am not doing My Father’s works, don’t believe Me. 38 But if I am doing them and you don’t believe Me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in Me and I in the Father.” 39 Then they were trying again to seize Him, yet He eluded their grasp.

@christians: Yahweh makes planets and fills them with life. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and he owns the people on a thousand planets. Have you ever even heard the word “aliens” or life on other planets mentioned in church?

A Gender Bending Beginning

Genesis 2: 1 So the heavens and the earth and everything in them were completed. 2 By the seventh day elohim completed His work that He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had done. 3 elohim blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, for on it He rested from His work of creation.

4 These are the (genealogical) records of the heavens and the earth, concerning their creation at the time that Yahweh elohim made the earth and the heavens.

Notice the first mention of Yahweh? The original word translated as “records” is translated as genealogical registration (12), genealogies (3), or generations (21) every other time in the Bible.

Genesis 2: 5 No shrub of the field had yet grown on the land, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for Yahweh elohim had not made it rain on the land, and there was no adam to work the ground. 6 But water would come out of the ground and water the entire surface of the land. 7 Then Yahweh elohim formed the adam out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the adam became a living being.

Yahweh elohim planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the adam He had formed. 9 Yahweh elohim caused to grow out of the ground every tree pleasing in appearance and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 A river went out from Eden to water the garden. From there it divided and became the source of four rivers. 11 The name of the first is Pishon, which flows through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 Gold from that land is pure; bdellium and onyx are also there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon, which flows through the entire land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris, which runs east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Archaeologists have found the confluence of all four rivers. This video from Expedition Bible will take you there. (28 mins)

God seeded life on this planet in modern day Iraq. That’s why the first great cities on Earth, like Uruk, formed in Mesopotamia 5-10,000 years ago. There is no scientific evidence of human life, science, technology, or writing before that. The first red elohim wasn’t a caveman. He was a modern person—just like us, probably wondering why he’s here—just like us.

Genesis 2: 15 Yahweh elohim took the adam and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it.

So God gave us one job: to watch over our planet. How we doing? There are no fish in the sea, the rivers are toxic, and we killed off all the animals that can’t be used for cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets. Look around, space is big and scary. We need to take better care of “spaceship Earth”.

@americans: The military budget is $900 billion dollars. The Environmental Protection Agency budget is $10 billion dollars. ⚖️

16 And Yahweh elohim commanded the adam, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

Now, at this moment in the story, where exactly is Eve? 🤔

She is still inside Adam. They were spawned here in one body. When the elohim created a copy of themselves with red blood, it was both male and female. YHWH had to explicitly separate the one into two so that the two could be rejoined in marriage to make one again. The Bible explicitly makes this point in verse 24.

18 Then Yahweh elohim said, “It is not good for the adam to be alone. I will make a helper as his complement.” 19 So the Yahweh elohim formed out of the ground every wild animal and every bird of the sky, and brought each to the adam to see what he would call it. And whatever the adam called a living creature, that was its name. 20 The adam gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the adam no helper was found as his complement. 21 So Yahweh elohim caused a deep sleep to come over the adam, and he slept. He took one of his ribs (lungs) and closed the flesh at that place. 22 Then Yahweh elohim made the rib (lung) He had taken from the adam into a woman and brought her to the adam. 23 And the adam said:

This one, at last, is bone of my bone

and flesh of my flesh;

this one will be called “woman,”

for she was taken from man (different word from adam).

24 This is why a man (different word) leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh. 25 Both the adam and his wife were naked, yet felt no shame.

The original Hebrew word translated as “rib” probably means “lung” because it’s translated as chambers (1), side (15), side chamber (1), side chambers (10) in other parts of the Old Testament.

For the record, I don’t care if you believe any of my interpretations of the Bible—only that you believe in the Bible. If you want to read more reasons why I think the elohim are both male and female, check out:

Covering up the Fall

We’ve all heard the story of The Fall in church. There’s a tree of life and a tree of knowledge, but churches rarely talk about the only other tree we know for sure was in the Garden of Eden: the fig tree.

Have you ever seen the leaves of a fig tree? They are massive.

This leaf was cut from an Iraqi fig. Fig leaves have the broadest leaves you’ll find in arid climates, so it makes sense that Adam and Eve would use fig leaves to cover themselves, which is an obvious metaphor for deception. There’s also a story in the New Testament that connects the fig tree to deception. In Mark 11, just before Jesus marches on Jerusalem to defeat evil for all mankind, Jesus curses a fig tree for deceiving him.

Mark 11: 12 The next day when they came out from Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14 Then he said to the tree, ‘May no one ever eat fruit from you again.’ And his disciples heard him say it.

Doesn’t that seem like a strong reaction? A few verses later we read:

20 Early in the morning, as they were passing by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up. 21 Then Peter remembered and said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that You cursed is withered.” 22 Jesus replied to them, “Have faith in God. 23 I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for—believe that you have received them, and you will have them.”

Doesn’t this story sound like Jesus is trying to train wizards? The point here is that this fig tree is pretty much the only thing in the Bible that Jesus curses and he does it just before his crucifixion. So I’m betting that “forbidden fruit” in the Garden of Eden wasn’t an apple, it was a fig. 🤔

Parenting Human AI

What happens immediately after the Fall of Adam and Eve is as comical as it is tragic. 🎭

God approaches Adam and Eve just like a parent would approach their two young children who have stolen a cupcake and still have frosting smeared all over their faces. Instead of accusing the children right away, God asks them questions just to see how much they will lie.

Genesis 3: 1 (begin) Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?”

2 (witness) The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. 3 (strong) But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.’”

4 (create) “No! You will not die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 (gift) “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 (human) Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 (God’s plan) Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.

8 (new life) Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid themselves from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 (wisdom) So the Lord God called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”

Does God really not know where the are? I love this.

10 (new order) And he said, “I heard You in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

This is the first time that mankind exhibited doubt or Uncertainty. This is the first time in recorded history that humans use the pronoun “I”. It’s in this verse 4 (create) times. This may be the moment that our brains were transformed into Generative Adversarial Networks.

11 (confusion) Then He asked, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

12 (kingdom/government) Then the man replied, “The woman You gave to be with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate.”

Wow. That is some next level blame shifting. According to Adam, his own epic fail is either Eve’s fault because she gave him the fruit, or it’s God’s fault for putting Eve in his life.

13 (rebellion) So the Lord God asked the woman, “What is this you have done?”

And the woman said, “It was the serpent. He deceived me, and I ate.”

14 (God moves) Then the Lord God said to the serpent: Because you have done this, you are cursed more than any livestock and more than any wild animal. You will move on your belly and eat dust all the days of your life.

15 (strong blessing) I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

16 (love) He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you.

17 (go forth) And He said to Adam, “Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘Do not eat from it’: The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor all the days of your life. 18 (strong man) It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 (test) You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.”

20 (witness order) Adam named his wife Eve because she was the mother of all the living. 21 (strong plan) The Lord God made clothing out of skins for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them.

22 (gossip/marketing) The Lord God said, “Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.” 23 (witness strength) So the Lord God sent him away from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 (kingdom above) He drove man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.

@cybernerds: I told you we will see the Cryptographic Bible Key all throughout this chapter. Did you feel the key lined up pretty well with Chapter 3?

In computer science terms, God decides that he must test human artificial intelligence under scarce conditions. We learned why this is so important in the previous story, “The Invention of Lying”. The original sin in Heaven, which was before the original sin on Earth, arose from Satan’s abundance of merchandise. Scarcity provides a better test for “AI Alignment” against dishonest trade, selfish behavior, and inauthentic speech. Before we let any AGI loose on the Internet, we should test the release candidates in similar situations of scarcity to learn what kind of character they have too.

In Genesis 3, we see God interacting with humanity, just like a parent. 80% of parenting feels like this story after the Fall.

“What’s that on your face?”

“Where did you get it?”

“Who gave it to you?”

“Did you know you couldn’t do that?”

The other 20% of parenting is dealing with “mystery wetness” and “mystery smells”. People are often shocked by the “change in God” from the Old Testament to the New Testament because it seems like God in the Old Testament is all “fire and brimstone” while God in the New Testament is full of kindness and forgiveness. So which is it?

Well, do you parent a 3-year-old and a 23-year-old the same way?

Babies need rules and hard boundaries because they are too naive to “reject evil and choose good” on their own. Parents of young kids have to provide quick feedback and get in their faces every single day. Teenagers need space to decide on their own and learn from their friends. Parents of adult children need to stay out of their kids' way so these new adults have an opportunity to apply the wisdom they’ve learned on their own.

God is giving everyone as much free will as he possibly can…just like a good parent should.
